Join our Near Peer Program and make a difference while getting paid! Near Peers are student mentors who support classmates through tutoring and in-class assistance. Participants are paid to sit in on select courses, help during class activities, and offer additional out-of-class hours those who need extra support. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your understanding of course material or gain leadership and teaching experience, the Near Peer Program is a great way to build connections, give back, and grow your skills.

Testimonials
“What makes the cITe program at Mount St. Joseph University unique is its integration of traditional computer science with research. All students complete two courses in research methods, which emphasizes understanding not only the core skills within computer science but also the needs of the stakeholders being served, an important aspect of the field that is often overlooked.”
Thomas Holtmeier, Senior
“When I first toured Mount St. Joseph University, I instantly felt like it was where I was meant to be. That visit introduced me to the cITe program through Brook Batch. I got involved during my sophomore year by joining the social media team, which led to my marketing internship at Abrapower USA. That opened the door to incredible opportunities, from designing a magazine page to taking my first work trip to Atlanta. As I prepare to graduate in May, I hope to transition into a full-time role with Abrapower. None of this would’ve been possible without the cITe program. The friendships, memories, and growth I’ve experienced have truly shaped who I am. I’m deeply thankful for the professors, mentors, friends, and family who’ve supported me every step of the way.”
Kaylyn Mullins, Senior
“I previously had CS:Social Computing and Liberal Arts majors. So, at this point, with what I’ve learned from the cITe program, I’ve moved forward into doctoral studies. The research skills I’ve learned more than prepared me for how to conduct research and write at the doctoral level. Furthermore, the tech skills that I picked up help me move forward in my concentration rapidly. As for employment, I now teach research, python, and practical AI/computers. I enjoy guiding the next generation of learners along through the challenges and excitements associated with these classes. The skills I learned in the cITe program made me adaptable to new technologies and changing environments, interacting with them naturally and fearlessly.”
