Program Information
Students in the cITe Program can major in Application Development or double major in Computer Science: Social Computing and another field of their choice. The program is designed to complement a student’s second major, deepening their understanding of data language and its role across industries. Application Development students gain hands-on experience with real-world projects, blending computer science, design, and development to build tools like mobile apps, chatbots, and data-driven systems.

Two Major Tracks
Application Development
The Application Development program’s hands-on curriculum enables students to gain critical technical and research skills while working on real-world projects in their courses. The program’s unique emphasis on combining computer science, web and mobile application development, and user-centered design prepares students to accomplish a variety of projects, such as: analyzing data and predicting trends, building chatbots, creating mobile apps, and developing engagement systems.
Social Computing
Students must pursue a double major in Social Computing and any other major such as Liberal Arts, New Media Communications, Behavioral Science, Psychology, Sociology, or Biomedical Sciences. Blending a Computer Science degree with a liberal arts degree or another science degree offers students an enhanced, interdisciplinary understanding of what data language is and how it can be used to meet the demands of today’s world.

Cohort Model
Take courses with the same group of students, make friends, build connections, and receive support from a diverse group of peers!
Dual Major Flexibility
Students can pursue a double major in Social Computing and any other major. Blending a Computer Science degree with another science degree offers students a unique understanding of data language and how it can be utilized to meet the demands of today’s world.
